Only stayed the one night so was hard to make a complete impression, the best thing for me though was the staff on check in. A lady who helped us was extremely friendly and helpful. We had to organise a connection to piraeus extremely early the next morning and she was more than helpful in ringing a few people finding times etc, a good thing, as our planned metro trip was out of action for the weekend. The price is great and it's not all that far a walk from omonoia and the metro stations in the area.
The toilet in the bathroom was kinda disgusting, just a badly stained toilet bowl, but not the best thing to see in a hotel. The bath/shower set up is an odd one, no shower curtain, very awkward. The tv also features some pretty xxx rated television stations which seem to be awkward, no child lock. So be very wary if you were to have youngsters staying who flick through the channels. The area was a little bit suspect, but Im still alive, so it can't be that bad.

Very clean rooms and bathrooms, very good staff, clean towels everyday, wi-fi in the rooms
sure, omonia is not the best place in the world to stay at, but all that people were not angry or have done anyth wrong to us - so it's ok) we've been returning home at 2-3 am and nothing wrong has happened. by the way, they dissappear from the streets at 4 am=)

The check-in time in this hotel is 1pm. But when we arrived at 6 am, sleepy and tired (we traveled all night from Iraklio and the goddamn ferryboat came to Athens at 5:30 AM and we naively bought deck tickets but it proved impossible to slumber on the Pullmann seats); so we arrived to Filoxenia by dawn and the personnel pitied us and gave us the room righ away without any additional charge. Thank you, guys!

The room was massive for the hotel's size. The shower had good water pressure, staff were very helpful, especially with in formation on things to do and how to get around. The location isn't in the best part of Athens, but there's a handy 24 hours shop just over the road and the metro and train station is just 5 minutes away and easy to find. The bed was comfortable. This hotel was better overall that I would expect considering the ultra cheap price.
There was no working heating in the room, I was there in January and it was freezing cold at night and first thing in the morning. This won't be a problem most of the year in Athens. Bathroom was basic, although there was good pressure in the shower there was no shower curtain, nor was there a plug for the bath.

Location within the city centre and the friendliness of the workers
Most of the facilities were old, and the air conditioner facing the bed directly

We stayed there before and after the our cruise in the island. First night was better than the last. The rooms are old and need to be repainted. Beds are really old. On the last night, our toilet was not flushing and the staff could not accomodate us to another room. Staff not really helpfull. Avoid if possible!!!!

Scarry neigbourhood, the bathroom was very basic, just broken old wall tiles painted blue, and the view to air shaft
